\nThe motorbike that filled his dreams,
\nDucatti red and polished chrome,
\nWould drive her wild with roars and screams
\nOutside her home<\/p>\n
No woman could resist he knew
\nA man in one-piece leather suit
\nAnd waking up The Avenue
\nWas his salute<\/p>\n
But Sara-Jane was not impressed
\nHer mother scowled, her Father swore
\nShe’d only asked him out to test
\nThe boy next door<\/p>\n
Now things were getting out of hand
\nHer schoolmates boiled with jealousy
\nFew teenage girls can understand
\nSweet sanity<\/p>\n
So she was going to the dance
\nA Barbie on a motorbike
\nBehind a greasy boy named Lance
\nShe didn’t like<\/p>\n
And Peter wouldn’t ever know
\nThat he was who she’d longed to ask
\nBut putting puppy love on show
\n‘s a mammoth task<\/p>\n
The night wore on and music played
\nWith Lance expecting endless praise
\nPoor Sara growing more dismayed
\nIn many ways<\/p>\n
But then her shoulder felt a tap
\nShe turned to see a friendly smile
\nSeems Peter’s not the sort of chap
\nTo wait a while<\/p>\n
They sneaked away from all the noise
\nWhere teenage hormones overflowed
\nThey left the mess of girls and boys
\nTo hit the road<\/p>\n
A rather cheap but tidy Ford
\nIs better for some sorts of date
\nWhile Lance showed off plain Peter scored
\nFirst loves are great!<\/p>\n

\nIn tales of long lost Camelot
\nQueen Guinivere was none too chaste
\nAnd fell for flashy Lancelot
\nA dreadful waste<\/p>\n
But modern girls are sometimes wise
\nAnd look beneath the shiny coat
\nPlain clothes can hide a sweet surprise
\nAs someone wrote<\/p>\n
While Lance was large in many ways
\nBrash clothes may merely compensate
\nNot well equipped for Cupid’s plays
\nSo cruel is fate<\/p>\n
But Peter didn’t need to boast
\nShe’s seen him at the swimming pool
\nTo Lance’s beans he’s Sunday roast
