The Last Champion!

\nIn Umbleania by the Sea
\nThere’s much Olympic revelry
\nFor George Adolphus Mungo Spring
\n(Five hundred meter hopping king)
\nIs more than sure he’ll win the gold
\nAnd everybody has been told
\nThat when he’s won the King will pay
\nFor half a fortnight’s holiday<\/p>\n
So George set out to catch the bus
\n(The 46) amidst much fuss
\nHis destiny was calling loud
\nAnd Umbleania would be proud!
\nHis hopping leg is long and strong
\n(Its partner’s weak and looks, well, wrong)
\nHe’s never lost a single race
\nA silver would be sad disgrace!<\/p>\n
By bus, then train, then plane, then car
\nFew Umbleanians stray so far
\nBut George Adolphus isn’t stressed
\nHe’s certain he will prove the best.
\nOlympic torch and national flag
\nAre stuffed inside a paper bag
\nHis travel case is bright and new
\nAnd houses just his hopping shoe.<\/p>\n
The airport isn’t looking right
\nBut George won’t moan he’s too polite
\nThere should be other athletes here
\nAnd maybe crowds to throng and cheer
\nThe streets aren’t lined with coloured rings
\nNo odd shaped mascots hung from strings
\nAnd at the village, what a cheek,
\nThey say the games were held last week!!!<\/p>\n

\nUmbleania by the Sea, one of the oldest Kingdoms on Earth was founded in the
\n1940s by King Bob’s dad. They’ve never won an Olympic medal for hopping
\nalthough it is the national sport. Hopping is so popular in the main cities
\nthat the pavements (sidewalks to Americans) need only be half as wide as in
\nother countries.<\/p>\n
The best way to get there is to kite-surf from Lewisham, turn left by
