On Splitting an Infinitive

\nInfinitive splitting is not a great sin,
\nIt really depends on the phrase that it’s in
\nAnd sometimes you need to in order to win –
\nThe prize of a sentence that works.<\/p>\n
You’ll hear strong objections from ignorant fools –
\nWho think that good writing is all about rules;
\nBut grammar and syntax are really just tools
\nWe use to write English that works.<\/p>\n
So when you are writing consider the sense.
\nTo do something different is proof you are dense,
\nThen split if you need to, don’t sit on the fence
\nAnd you’ll see your poetry works!<\/p>\n

\n“Really to try” means you did actually try and sounds awkward
