My Wren

\nEvery morning there’s a wren that wakes the Sun
\nSinging loudly at my window from the tree
\nLong before the other birds can spoil his fun
\nHe decides to teach the World his poetry.<\/p>\n
All day long he hides and barely makes a sound
\nWhile the songs of other birds are in the air
\nHe is skulking in the bushes near the ground
\nWithout a thought he feels the need to share.<\/p>\n
But then when the day has finished with the sky
\nAnd night has almost stolen it away
\nOnce again he proves he isn’t really shy
\nAnd he’d love a lady wren to come and play.<\/p>\n
Just a few times every year I see my wren
\nMaybe when a cat has tried to catch him out
\nAnd though I only see and greet him now and then
