Jessica’s Poem

\nWhen Jessica’s playing with water and sand
\nOr sat at a table with paint in her hand
\nShe knows what she’s doing and knows what to do
\nAnd Jessica says “Choo Choo!”<\/p>\n
She knows where the snacks are, but Daddy forgets
\nShe has to remind him or sometimes he frets
\nIf she’s in her high chair then it’s time for food
\nShe’ll eat some but some must be strewed<\/p>\n
The books in the box will need sorting she’s sure
\nShe won’t want to read those she’s left on the floor
\nWhere’s Hairy McLairy, and the book with the swings
\nAh here’s one that happily sings<\/p>\n
It’s Jessica’s World and she grows up each day
\nAlways learning new words and more great games to play
\nReads books for her teddies to teach them to talk
\nBut she’s not sure she’s ready to walk<\/p>\n
A noise at the door may mean parcels to tear
\nOr bunnies with chocolates she won’t want to share
\nBut after a day filled with games, books and bread
\nNow Jessica’s ready for bed!

\nJessica is my almost 18 month old granddaughter. Please bear in mind that
\nhowever bad my poem is, she’s perfect!<\/p>\n
The first stanza did say
\nWhen Jessica’s playing with water and sand
\nOr sat at a table with paint in her hand
\nShe knows what she’s doing and knows what to do
\nHer world is near perfect and new<\/p>\n
But when read the poem for the first time Jessica said “Choo Choo” at that
